ABOUT | THE DESIGNER
@feyadegoke
Fey Atelier was born from a simple, unshakeable belief — that a woman should never have to choose between who she is and how she shows up.
Behind the brand is Glory Oluwafeyisayo Dada. Fey, as her friends have always called her, began designing long before there was a label to put her name on. It started with her mom’s tailor who couldn’t translate her design into outfits properly which solidified her decision to attend a fashion school after her secondary school education to learn to sketch and sew her own clothes. Her obsession from the beginning was finishing. At a time when imported clothing set the standard for impeccable craft, Feyisayo refused to accept anything less from her own hands. She learned to make sewn garments look like they were never sewn — clean, considered, precise. That standard has never left her work.
Then came university. A dorm room. A roommate who needed an outfit. Fey made it — and something shifted. Siblings noticed. Friends noticed. Word spread the way good things do when they are made with genuine care. When Feyisayo dressed the winner of her department’s beauty pageant in a piece she had made herself, it wasn’t just a dress on a stage. It was a declaration of what Fey Atelier would one day become.
Fey Atelier was formally established in 2024, growing from its predecessor Apparels by Fey into a full fashion house offering bespoke and ready-to-wear. The atelier works across two worlds — contemporary bridal for the woman stepping into one of the most significant moments of her life, and ready-to-wear rooted in African heritage craft for the woman navigating every other moment with the same intention and elegance.
The name Fey is Feyisayo’s own — a nickname carried from childhood, shorthand for Feyisayo, given by the people who knew her first and best. It felt right to build something under that name. Something personal. Something that carries the same warmth and precision she has always brought to her work.
Obinrin — Collection I — is Fey Atelier’s debut aso-oke collection. A capsule of six pieces celebrating the African woman in every dimension of her life. Her roots. Her wealth. Her courage. Her joy. Her conviction. Her motherhood. It is the most personal work Feyisayo has made to date, and the clearest expression yet of what Fey Atelier stands for.
Elegance is not decoration. It is intention. It is showing up — fully, memorably, completely yourself.
